GonioBOT-DMS Robotic Display Measurement System

This Gamma Scientific system combines a state of the art spectroradiometer system (based on the RadOMA-DMS) with a precision robotic goniometer and sophisticated system software to provide non-contact spectral measurement of a display as a function of position and viewing angle.  The size of the measurement spot is determined by working distance (adjusted by the lens-focusing mechanism) and the field of view (FOV; selected by a six-position aperture wheel).

Spectral, Colorimetric, and Photometric results are automatically calculated and displayed by the system software; powerful report-generation features streamline documentation of results. The software also automates and manages system calibration, making it possible to maintain optimal system calibration with minimal downtime.

Setup is made easy by two unique system features: The robot automatically detects display position and orientation, and automatically aligns itself to the display, while a laser back-illumination system projects an image of the measurement spot on the display surface for easily visualization.

This system is suitable for the following types of test and measurements:

  • Photometric Measurements
    • Luminance
    • Contrast Ratio
    • Gamma (Gray Scale/EOTF)
  • Color Measurements
    • Chromaticity
    • Color Temperature (CCT)
    • Gamut mapping (RGB plotting)
    • Dominant Wavelength & Purity
    • White Balance, Gray Balance
  • Spectral Characterization
  • Spatial and Angular Characterization
    • Spatial Uniformity (Flat-field)
    • Angular Distribution (Luminance and Color)
    • Modulation Transfer Function (MTF)
